Beard Wash vs Shampoo

Posted by Udrea Russell on

Beard wash and shampoo are both used to clean the beard, but they are formulated differently to meet the specific needs of the beard.

Shampoo is typically designed to clean the scalp and hair on the head. It is formulated with a higher pH level, which helps to remove excess oil and dirt from the hair. However, this high pH level can be harsh on the beard, causing it to become dry and brittle.

Beard wash, on the other hand, is specifically formulated for the beard. It has a lower pH level, which helps to clean the beard without stripping it of its natural oils. Beard wash is also usually enriched with conditioning agents that help to moisturize the beard and keep it soft and healthy.

In general, it is recommended to use beard wash rather than shampoo to clean the beard. However, if you don't have access to beard wash, you can use a mild, sulfate-free shampoo to clean your beard. Just be sure to follow up with a conditioner to help moisturize and nourish your beard.
